Join us for Faith Journey PDF Print E-mail

Faith Journey

Connect. Grow. Serve. Go.

What’s a disciple?

A disciple is a follower of Jesus who connects with Christ in worship, grows in Christ as part  of a Community Group, serves Christ in the Church, and goes out to share Christ with others through missions and evangelism—inviting others to join them on a Faith Journey with Jesus.

Our Faith Journey Course is designed to create an environment where people experience support and growth as they engage in their own journey of following Jesus (discipleship).

Where do I start?

Not everyone starts along the path at the same place, or in the same way. For many, worship is the first step on their pathway of faith. You may have started by joining aCommunity Group, or maybe attended a class or two. Or perhaps someone invited you to serve alongside them and you found a community of great people to be a part of. Wherever you are, we recommend one of your first steps be to participate in Faith Journey.

Join the Journey

These discipling experiences are offered 3 time a year, in eight 1.5 hour classes, starting March 29th. In these casual, non-threatening sessions, you will have the opportunity to connect with our adult leaders and with other participants- who, just like you, desire to  explore what it means to be a deeply committed Christian. We invite all members and attenders of Faith Church to join us on the Journey.

8 week Faith Journey Course:

Thursday evenings 6:30-8 p.m. in rooms 14 and 16.

Learn about key spiritual practices and personal disciplines of a growing disciple of Jesus Christ. Experience and apply these concepts to your daily life. Connect with others and make new friends in a relaxed engaging environment.

During each facet of the Faith Journey, you will explore:

Connect

  • What does it mean to experience corporate and private worship?

Grow

  • Experience the Bible in ways you never thought possible: the books, history, guidance, application.
  • Explore what the Bible says about prayer, fasting, and specific elements to help you grow. Engage in Community Group life; the Biblical reason and what it is like to be a part of the Community.

Serve

  • Serving in the body of Christ

Go

  • Essentials of going on a mission experience
  • Sharing your faith story
  • Inviting others into the Journey

Course Dates:

Faith Journey will be offered March 29th– May 24th and again September 27th– November 15th.

New Sermon Series Coming in February: Go Fish!

Jesus told his followers that He would make them fish for people.  What does  it mean for us to fish for people, but to share our faith effectively and invite people into a relationship with Jesus and His people?  In order to do that well, we need to be able to answer three questions: 1) Why do people need Jesus? 2) Why do people need the Church? And 3) Why do people need our church? We’re going to look at these 3 questions during this series.

February 5  “Why do people need Jesus?”

February 12  “Why do people need the Church?”

February 19  “Why do people need Faith Church?

Ash Wednesday Service, Feb. 22, 7 p.m.

This Lent, we hope you’ll join us for “24 Hours That Changed the World” A special sermon series and church wide emphasis on the last full day of Jesus’ life.

All are also invited to celebrate Communion with us the first Sunday in Lent, February 26.
