Our Purpose
Faith United Methodist Pre-School is a non-profit, self-supporting school for pre-kindergarten children dedicated to the Christian ethic and the philosophy that a child learns best in an atmosphere of warm acceptance of his natural curiosity about the world. Curriculum
The curriculum and activities at Faith United Methodist Pre-School are based on the belief that children need to learn and grow in an environment rich in warmth, empathy, and understanding. Each child is recognized as an individual and is encouraged to investigate and explore the world at their own pace. The staff supervises activities and guides each child toward a better understanding of themselves and their world. We strive to help each child further his academic readiness, social skills, and personal management. The teacher’s goal is to help each child gain a positive self-image and a positive outlook toward learning and the school setting. Our pre-school is an environment where the children will begin to understand themselves as individuals with unique likes, dislikes, feelings, and skills. They will learn to interact with adults and peers in small and large group situations. Opportunities occur where we can practice the social skills of sharing, taking turns, following rules and assuming responsibility. As the children become more comfortable with themselves, experiences in the community (field trips, resource speakers) play an important role in understanding their world.
