Hi!
We’ve heard all of the excuses for teenagers not wanting to get plugged into a youth ministry. It’s boring….I won’t know anyone….all the people who go to church are nerds. We’re ready for all of those excuses.
We’ve designed a youth ministry called “The Net” where your students will not only have fun but will grow in character and spiritual maturity in the process. If you’re in High School we invite you to join us on Sunday evenings from 7:00 – 8:30 pm in the church’s Fellowship Hall. Click Here for a map of our campus.

Why Are We Called “The Net” ???
Where do you go if you need to search for information, want to connect with a friend or have stuff to share on your MySpace . . you go to the inter”net”. We want youth group to be the “Net” for your spiritual life; a p[ace to learn about God, to connect with others and to grow in your relationship with Jesus Christ. Also, God wants us to be able to share our faith with others (to be a new kind of fishermen & women) and if you want to go fishing you need to have a “Net”.
Mark 1:17
Jesus said to them, "Come with me. I'll make a new kind of fisherman out of you. I'll show you how to catch men and women instead of perch and bass." The Message
Sunday Nights
To know Him and make Him known is the reason that Icthus exists, but what does that really mean? Come to The Net on Sunday nights from 7 to 8:30 and find out. You’ll see and hear God’s word through music, skits, and videos. During Storytellers you’ll hear how God is moving in other people’s lives and “table talk” gives you the chance to share what’s on your mind and in your heart about that night’s topic.
Out of the House Events
Some of the events we have scheduled so far are a fall hike to the “Haystacks”, Bon-fire/Capture the flag and a trip to Lancaster County Bible Church with Ice-skating afterwards. These events are a great time to invite a friend who might not come to a “church” activity. If you have an idea for an Out of the House event let us know.
Small Groups
Small Groups will start meeting in October and will be set up based on age and gender. This is a chance for you to meet with an adult and a few other students for bible study, prayer and sharing. The groups will be meeting in host homes throughout Montoursville. The day and time for each group will be scheduled once we start sign ups.
Winter Retreat
Are you ready for some snow! On February 15, 16 and 17th we will be going to His Thousand Hills Retreat Center. This is a chance to spend some quality time with God away from all your everyday distractions. There’ll be great music, worship and of course a chance to just hang out, play hoops in the gym or do some sledding on their excellent hills.
